Terms of service

In short

The short version: Doggolos is an app from Farmyard Labs Ltd for households with dogs. It keeps your dogs' dates, food, plans, vet notes and costs in one place, shared with the people in your household, and reminds you before things are due. It gives hints about what to ask your vet, but it is not veterinary advice. The person who starts a household pays for it and can invite others, and everyone in a household sees and can change the same records. You can cancel any time, and you can delete your account any time.

1. Who we are and what this is

Doggolos is provided by Farmyard Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17507812), whose registered office is at 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. These terms are the agreement between you and Farmyard Labs Ltd ("we", "us") for using Doggolos. By creating an account, you agree to them. You must be 18 or over. If anything is unclear, email support@doggolos.app before you subscribe.

2. The service

Doggolos is an app for households with dogs: dates and reminders (worming, vaccinations, flea and tick, kennel stays), food, plans, what your vet said and what you spend, for the dogs in your household. We give you a personal licence to use it on your own devices to look after your own dogs. Don't sell, share, copy or reverse-engineer the app, or try to break it. The app, its design, text and guidance belong to us or our licensors. What you enter belongs to you, including your dogs' records and anything you save from your vet.

3. Not veterinary advice

Doggolos gives hints about what to ask your vet. It never suggests a dose, a product or a diagnosis. What your vet said is your own saved note. Check with your vet before you act.

Doggolos is a care and reminder tool. It is not veterinary advice, and nothing in it has been checked, approved or certified by a vet. That includes the hints and "good to know" notes, the dates it works out for when something is next due, and any food or cost figures. We write the hints ourselves from published guidance, and each one shows where it came from and when we last checked it, but guidance changes and every dog is different. Dogs can fall ill or get hurt, and a reminder is no substitute for your vet: if you are worried about a dog, contact your vet straight away.

When you save what your vet prescribed (the brand, the amount, how often), that is your own note. Doggolos stores it and reminds you, but it hasn't checked it and it never suggests one. Use the amount on the pack or the one your vet gave you.

This section is a warning about how to use Doggolos safely. It does not reduce our responsibility under "9. Our responsibility" below.

4. Households and the people you share with

A household is the group of people who look after the same dogs in Doggolos. The dogs and their records belong to the household, and you can be in more than one household.

  • The primary. Whoever starts a household is its primary. The primary pays for the household's plan, invites people, can cancel an invite, can remove people, and can hand the primary role to another member.
  • Members. Members are the people the primary invites. They never pay. Everyone in a household can see and change the same records: the dogs, dates, notes, food, plans and costs. Only invite people you are happy to share your dogs' records with.
  • Invites. An invite is a link and a short code. Each works once, expires after 7 days, and the primary can cancel it. You need an account to join.
  • Your name. Everything you log carries your name, so the people you share with can see who did what. If you leave or are removed, your name stays on what you logged. If you delete your account, it shows as "a former member".
  • Access comes from the plan. A member's access comes from the household's plan. If the plan ends or lapses, or the primary removes you, you lose access to that household until a plan returns or you are invited again. Nothing is deleted when that happens, and if the plan has lapsed Doggolos still lets you export a copy. If the primary moves to the Solo plan (one person), the other members lose access, the records stay with the primary, and members can rejoin when the primary upgrades.
  • Leaving. You can leave a household at any time. The primary has to hand the primary role to another member first. If the primary is alone in the household and leaves, the household is archived: it becomes read only and can be downloaded for 30 days, then it is deleted.

5. Subscriptions and the free period

A subscription is needed to use Doggolos after the free period. It is sold through the App Store or Google Play, which show you the price and the billing period before you subscribe. The primary subscribes for the household. Members never buy anything. Here is the deal, in full:

  • The plans. Household (everyone in your home) or Solo (just you), each monthly or yearly. On a yearly plan the store shows the price for the year, and Doggolos shows the monthly equivalent beside it.
  • The free period. You start with 14 days free, using the store's own free-trial offer. Everything is open for the whole household during it. After that, your App Store or Google Play account is charged automatically for the plan you chose, unless you cancel before the free period ends (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before; on Google Play, before). The screen where you subscribe shows the date. The stores decide who gets a free period, and usually only once per store account, so if yours has had one already, Doggolos starts at the plan price and says so before you pay.
  • Renewal. It renews every month, or every year on a yearly plan, until you cancel. The least you would pay if you don't cancel is one period: one month on a monthly plan, one year on a yearly plan.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. More > Manage subscription in the app takes you there. You don't need to tell us. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Our reminder. We email the primary a reminder 3 days before the first charge. After that we email a reminder before renewals: every six months on a monthly plan, and twice before each renewal on a yearly plan.
  • If the price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel first.
  • Your rights. If you cancel in the 14 days after your first payment, you get it back, less the days you used. Details are in "6. Cancelling, cooling-off and refunds".
  • Payment. Apple or Google takes the payment at the price shown. We never see your card details. On Google Play, a small temporary hold may show on your card when you start. It is reversed and is not a charge.
  • Changing plan. The primary can switch between Household and Solo, and between monthly and yearly, in the store's subscription settings.

6. Cancelling, cooling-off and refunds

If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days from subscribing to cancel without giving a reason. Doggolos is digital content you can use as soon as you subscribe. Tapping to start asks us to open Doggolos straight away, and you accept that this ends the usual 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase. We email you to confirm this. You can still stop the free period at any time before it ends and pay nothing.

When the free period ends and you are charged for the first time, you have 14 days from that payment to cancel for any reason. On a yearly plan, you have the same 14 days after each yearly renewal. If you cancel in that time you get the payment back, less the days you used. We email the primary on the day it starts, to say when it ends and how to cancel.

  • On the App Store. Ask for a refund in your Apple Account purchase history (Report a Problem), and cancel in Settings > Subscriptions. If Apple turns the refund down, email support@doggolos.app and we will sort it.
  • On Google Play. Cancel in Google Play > Subscriptions and email support@doggolos.app. We refund you from Google Play within 14 days, to the card you paid with.

After that you can still cancel any time, and it then runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Apple or Google handles payments under their own policies. None of this affects any right to a refund, repair, replacement or price reduction that you have by law.

We email the primary when the free period starts (with these terms and the details above), 3 days before the first charge, on the day the cooling-off period starts, and when a subscription is cancelled (to say when it stops). We don't put offers in those emails.

7. Your account and your records

  • Give us accurate details and keep your login secure.
  • Your household's records are held on our servers, so the people in your household see the same thing, and each device keeps a copy so Doggolos works without a signal. You can export your records any time from More > Export.
  • Delete your account any time at doggolos.app/delete-account. We ask you to confirm it's you with a code we email you. This permanently removes your account, your place in any household, your reminder settings and our record of the terms you accepted. A household with other people in it carries on without you, and what you logged shows as "a former member". If you are the primary of a household with other people in it, hand the primary role to someone else first. If you are alone in a household, it is archived and deleted after 30 days, so export first if you want to keep it.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your store settings first.

8. Using Doggolos fairly

Don't use Doggolos for anything unlawful, or to disrupt the service. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or end your access, and where it is reasonable we will tell you why first. If we ever stop providing Doggolos, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and explain how to get a refund for any period you have paid for but can't use.

9. Our responsibility

  • We will provide Doggolos with reasonable care and skill.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
  • If you are a consumer, the law says digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If it isn't, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement, a price reduction, and compensation (including if it damages your device or other digital content). Nothing in these terms takes those rights away. Citizens Advice can explain them.
  • If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of what we did or failed to do, or if you and we both knew it was possible when you subscribed.
  • If you use Doggolos for business (for example as a breeder, trainer or dog walker), we are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, lost business or business interruption.
  • We are not responsible for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as a store, network or device outage.

10. Changes

We may change or remove features for valid reasons: to fix problems or keep Doggolos secure, to follow the law or the app stores' rules, to improve it, or because something we rely on is no longer available. If a change materially disadvantages you, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel before it takes effect.

We may change these terms for the same reasons. We will give you at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email, unless a legal or security reason means it has to be sooner. If a change is significant, the app will show you the new version to accept. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect; if you keep using Doggolos after it takes effect, you accept the new terms.

11. Other points

  • Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Doggolos or its support. Your purchase is also subject to the terms of the store you bought it from.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in the courts there, and the consumer protections of your home country still apply to you. Otherwise the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (exclusive jurisdiction if you use Doggolos for business).
  • How we use your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
